It's Fun Friday and you know what that means! It was another super fun day for all of our campers full of animal activities and games, and let's not forget that Farmers Market! I don't know about you, but I loved seeing all the yummy food the pepper groups made!
The red peppers helped kick off the day with the flag ceremony before starting the activities for the day. Our campers were eager to jump back into their daily routine, especially because they got to see and work with the animals during animal chores!
We had perfect weather for working out in the garden! The cooler weather helped energize the campers while they helped David out in the garden. Since we received more mulch, campers were excited to jump in and start spreading it. They also continued to harvest produce such as kale, Swiss chard and onions. Some of the produce the campers harvested was used to make their Farmers Market dish! Now that's what I call a fresh farm-to-table recipe!
Yesterday, campers worked together to make fruit popsicles in Garden Kitchen. Since they had to freeze overnight, the campers were able to enjoy the tasty snack this morning. This is a perfect summer treat that you and your pepper(s) can make together using the recipe below!
Since it was Friday, we had a bunch of fun activities lined up for our campers in the afternoon. Some of the activities included games like "Wrens and Jays," more time visiting with the animals and a sponge relay! For the sponge relay, we split the pepper groups up so that the red peppers raced against the orange peppers and the green peppers played with the yellow peppers. All of the peppers had a great time with this and all of them are winners in my eye!
As a fun end-of-camp activity all of the pepper groups came together for a giant game of Capture the Flag and had a lot of fun doing so!
This week of camp may be done, but all of our campers had a week full of fun activities, friends and memories to cherish!
Thanks for joining me this week and I hope to see you soon!
