Greetings everyone and welcome back to day three of Know and Grow Your Food Camp! The peppers began the day with the flag ceremony. They learned two new songs this morning, the "Good Morning Song," and "The Little Red Wagon." Afterward, it was time to get cooking!
In Garden Kitchen, the peppers made spinach pancakes as well zucchini noodles with pesto. They were both delicious and nutritious too!
In the horse barn, the green peppers fed Happy and Barney the pigs, as well as all three ponies. Lastly, they cleaned the pony pen as well as groomed Dozer!
In the garden, campers planted beets! They also picked more produce for the farm stand. If you haven't already, be sure to stop by the farm stand to grab some fresh fruits and veggies.
The peppers made treats for our chickens today. They used oats, molasses, cracked corn, layer feed, and mealworms. The chickens are going to love these and campers will be feeding them later this week.
Today, the peppers learned all about eggs. They wrote down one thing they think and wonder about eggs. Campers got their questions answered as they discussed each stage of chick development.
Campers hung out with the chickens today. They learned how to properly catch and hold them. The peppers also took the chickens to the hayloft to discuss their unique features.
Thank you for joining us for another day of farm camp. It was a great day, and we can't wait to see you back here tomorrow!
