Our final group of campers for the summer has arrive at Bowers Farm. We are beyond excited to have them but also sad that our summer is nearing its end. With a few warm days left before fall, we of course took full advantage with our campers!
The day began with a visit to all our animals. We made sure to discuss our five senses when visiting them, talking about what they eat, how they feel, how they smell, and what noises they make. We took a visit to our ponies, potbelly pigs, chickens, and bunnies! We also got to take a trip into the lower barn to see the goats, sheep, and baby cow! Our llama, Cinnamon, also said hello! We have new additions to the farm as well! Two new goats and a new, beautiful horse!
After seeing all our animals, we spent a little more time talking about our senses while visiting the master garden. There, we got to take a look at all the plants and even pick/smell some of them! There is a thyme garden within the master garden that has all different types of thyme growing - each of them smell so delicious!
We took a wagon ride to lunch and enjoyed a nice picnic in the shade!
We also painted our handprints and read a story called "The Noisy Farm"! To remember what we learned about our senses, we did a sense matching sheet with stickers to help us connect objects to our senses!
To end our day, we made smoothies with strawberry, raspberry, banana, and honey! They were DELICIOUS! We cannot believe tomorrow is the last day of camp, but we are so excited to share it with these wonderful campers!
