Our last day of Farm on Foot! We are nearing the end of summer, but we are not done with all our fun farm activities.
Today, we started our day with sidewalk chalk! We made footprints of our campers to represent our exploring feet on the farm. The campers colored them in and made a colorful sidewalk mural!
Then we played some fun parachute games outside. We ran underneath, around, and shook the parachute to bounce beach balls in the middle. And we sure did a lot of laughing!
Before snack, we made our very own farm stories with special farm stickers. Our campers used their creative imaginations to make stories about the farm and all the different animals and placed on the stickers to help tell their story. After that, we made our own bags of trail mix to eat as our afternoon snack!
It was time for a very special activity. We got to play with the baby chicks! Our campers watched them walk around and try to learn to fly. They even got to hold one of the chicks all on their own. We had so much fun!
For lunch, we took a hike through the woods to get to our shady lunch spot, climbing up a big hill in order to work up an appetite. Then we ate our delicious lunches before taking the wagon, that was waiting at our picnic spot, back to the classroom. On our way back, we stopped at the pumpkin patch to see what was growing!
We then marched out to say goodbye to all the animals on the farm – the ponies, sheep, goats, llama, chickens, turkeys, and pigs. After saying goodbye, we came back inside to enjoy the trail mix we made earlier and wait for pick-up and our sad, final goodbyes.
