Dairy Discovery Camp Week 1 Day 5

Updated: Jul 16, 2018

Howdy folks and welcome back for the fifth and final day of Dairy Discovery. This morning's pledges were lead by the red peppers. In honor of the last flag ceremony, the peppers decided to sing their favorite song: The Hay Song.

Today was a special day because campers got the chance to ride horses Cowgirl and Casey. After all that riding, it was time to cool off. The red peppers hosed down the horses, making sure to get all the sweat off. Each camper got an individual photo on the horse, so be sure to check the SmugMug gallery!

After horse rides, the yellow peppers helped clean up the pony pen!

Then it was time to put the peppers' udders to the test. They used the hose to see if their creation could function as an udder would. So many of them were successful!

Out in the garden, campers helped to fertilize the box plots as well as the rest of the plants. It also was the perfect opportunity to cool off in the hose!

Ice cream was the perfect treat on such a hot day. In garden kitchen, the peppers made homemade ice-cream and added fresh strawberry topping. The recipe for this perfect pair is listed below!

Today campers discussed a pig's purpose on the farm while walking Happy the pig! They laid a trail of food around the farm and watched as he ate his way along.

The peppers used leather to make beautiful dream catchers and bracelets. They talked about where leather comes from, and its many uses on the farm. Campers also used this time to prepare their skits for the Farm Show!

Its hard to believe that this week is already over. We had so much fun and can't wait to see you all again soon!
